How this all started...
It was a Friday morning, in Chicago, March. Doug, Jon and I met at a conference room provided by Jon's friend. That was a nice conference room, oversaw the Michigan lake, from the top of the famous 900 North Michigan Ave on the magnificent mile. Doug flew in from New York in the morning, Jon from San Francisco the night before, I was in Chicago for my regular bi-weekly trip.
It was a regular Chicago winter morning, chilly as usual, however, something different marked that day. It was the sunshine. I remember sitting in that ridiculously large and luxurious conference room, the three of us were talking. Eventhough we knew each other from the past, this was the first time that the three of us sat across table and talk. Jon was standing there, drawing on a whiteboard and getting all excited — just like how he is, Doug and I sat across table from each other. We were talking about a six month prove of concept deliverable, Doug was optimistic, wanted it earlier, just like the way Doug is — This was how the end of year launch date came out, by the way
The early morning sunshine came through the large window, lightened the room, lightened us as well. I told myself:"this just feels right"...I joined soon after.
