Beijing Zoo - 北京动物园

北京动物园

Went to Beijing Zoo with Shen — my husband, full filling one of his wishes. Shen always likes to go to zoo, only Beijing zoo though, as he was there almost everyday when he was a kid. He is very nostalgic. Therefore, we, Shen and I, became the only Beijingnese wandering around the Beijing zoo during spring festival

We went to see the monkeys and tigers. The monkey mountain was closed due to a new highway construction that goes directly above the mountain. There are a lot of constructions in Beijing, Jon once said that you can see at least five or six cranes every where you go. He is not exaggerating. Beijing is like a huge construction site on its own, old buildings going down, new buildings rising up every day. For the last couple of years, I have been wondering what Beijing is going to look like when all the constructions are done. I am still waiting, there is no sign of slowing down yet...

I was very surprised to learn that Beijing Aquarium is the largest inland aquarium in the world, so I took a picture in front of the Beijing Aquarium (北京海洋馆)...

btw: I didn't understand why anybody would use phone to take picture when camera is as small and provides much better quality. Now I start to understand it, nobody carries camera all the time, however, everybody carries phone. It then becomes a matter of convenience when you have camera on the phone...I now find myself start to like using my BBL for pictures.

I took pictures of species that I didn't see at other places.
Chinese Sturgeon (中华鲟), also known as a living fossil:

And Giant Panda (大熊猫), of course:

No need for a link on the Giant Panda picture, everybody knows panda.
