Happy Birthday, Doug!
I was not much involved in the sales process when I was out in Beijing. Since coming back to CA from AdMonsters, I have been more involved. It started by attending Doug's weekly sales update. He came to the meeting with printed sales pipeline document exported from salesforce. It was eyes opening: the document was several pages long!! For a second, I thought I was in the sales meeting for some mature products I used to run...The meeting lasted more than an hour, just to run through all the prospects with status update.
Jon has said many times that he is "nervous" since we launched...I now finally understand what he meant...Indeed, have seen all of that, I start to get nervous too...A big challenge in front of us would be quickly converting all prospects into customers, deploying them successfully to grab as much market share as possible. We are fighters in nature, the bigger the challenge, the more excited we are. That is what makes life interesting!
We just got several new "FreeWheelers" joining us this week, it seems like we are finally going to say goodbye to Battery office, get our own nest. Jon and I will go check out a space that Doug found next week. Roger joked:"It is like seeing your kids leaving home, going to college."
In closing, I came across Doug's passport image on FreeWheel's HR folder, found out that Doug's birthday is March 1st! Happy Birthday, Doug!
P.S.: Doug will be on the road next week to get us more customers, I wish him a fruitful trip!
