FreeWheel Outing
We arranged an engineering outing at the end of May, FreeWheel Beijing team and visitors from NYC went on a field trip to MuLan Paddock, a royal family hunting ground during Qing dynasty. Since it is on the Mongolian high plains, it is still pretty cold when summer has long arrived in cities. There was light snowing when we arrived the night before.

Places at MuLan Paddock has no heating, it is unbelievably cold at night even when it is 30 degrees centigrade everywhere else! Mike sent me an SOS message when he woke up in the morning and could not go back to sleep because it was freezing.
I woke up very early too, went out for a quick run, it was so quiet and peaceful, it felt like the entire world disappeared but us.
We decided to move to Cheng De, a small city famous for summer vacation because it used to be the royal family vacation villa during Qing Dynasty (承德避暑山庄). That made everybody very happy, I guess once we have grown used to modern amenities there is no way going back.

The vacation villa is very comfortable, the weather is great, the scenic is beautiful, we had great time there. However, I found the moment that I remembered the most and laughed about the most is the freezing night on the Mongolian high plains.

Interesting and beautiful place ! I guess there is more than thirty employees in Freewheel ! A not very big company but change the world's advertisement very big.
